This trip will travel to Milwaukee, WI to work with Unity Lutheran church to work with their urban ministries. This trip is a full immersion of faith where participants will have the opportunity to learn about how Unity Lutheran helps provide services to the community and works to share the Christian Gospel. The Faith Immersion & Urban Ministries in Milwaukee, WI will be from March 5 - 11. 2017.
Discovering the Lakota Nation: Culture & Empowerment in Mission, SD
This trip will be traveling to the Rosebud Reservation in Mission, South Dakota to complete a week of service and immersion into Sicangu Lakota culture. On this trip you will have the opportunity to work with the Tree of Life organization that works to provide services such as construction, food relief, and other social services to the local population. This trip will leave on Saturday, March 4.
First-Year Student Trip - Homelessness & Home Stability in Mandeville, LA
This trip will work with Habitat for Humanity of St. Tammany West in Mandeville, LA. This trip will help build homes for families in need and who are facing homelessness and home instability. Participants will learn how Habitat for Humanity works to combat home instability & homelessness. This trip is reserved primarily for first-year students. This trip will leave on Saturday, March 4, 2017.
In response to the catastrophic flooding in Baton Rouge & Southern Louisiana this summer that displaced over 100,000 families and dumped 6.9 trillion gallons of water in one week upon local communities this trip will help with disaster relief efforts. This trip will help focus on home repairs due to damage caused by the flooding. This trip will leave on Saturday, March 4, 2017.
This trip will be traveling to Berea in eastern Kentucky to learn about Appalachian culture, Berea College (a work study college), and the issues of poverty facing this region of the country. This trip will have the opportunity to work with community based organizations that provide services and relief to those facing extreme poverty.
Fraternity & Sorority Trip - Urban Poverty & Human Services in Nashville, TN
The annual fraternity & sorority trip will take a look at the many different needs of the diverse, urban, and growing refugee/immigrant population in Nashville, TN. There will be the opportunity to work with community based organizations providing human services. This trip is reserved for members of a fraternity or sorority and space will be prioritized to ensure representation from all chapters.
